C&C Racing Promotions Gets Frostbite

Tickets Now on Sale

Lexington, NC — Over the last six years, C&C Racing Promotions has become widely recognized as the promoters of the highly-regarded Annual North-South Shootout TM Modified racing event. In 2009, the group looks to build on those successes as they expand to host the first annual Frostbite Modified Winter Nationals on March 6 & 7 at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC.

The event’s owner Charles Kepley of Lexington, NC, has long been synonymous with Modified racing in the South. As an avid supporter of the former Southern Modified Auto Racing Tour (SMART), the decision to expand his efforts to include another event was a simple one.

Kepley will team with his Shootout staff including his son Chad, long-time official Dick Brooks, Mike Kuhn, and Dale Wolbrink to help with the presentation of the Frostbite Modified Winter Nationals. C&C Racing Promotions will also employ the assistance of the Randy Myers and the American Speed Association (ASA) sanctioned Southern Modified Race Tour.

The Frostbite Modified Winter Nationals featuring the Josh Jenkins Memorial Modified 125 is the perfect way for Kepley and the Southern competitors to pay tribute to former SMART President and long-time friend Josh Jenkins, who passed way back in 2007.

As a point race for the ASA Modifieds, a full-field of Southern Modifieds is slated to take the green flag. A host of competitors will also invade from the North with veterans like Jamie Tomaino and Charlie Pasteryak joining the likes of rising stars Ronnie Silk and Tony Hanbury.

The winner of the Frostbite Modified Winter Nationals will earned a guaranteed starting spot in the 7th annual North-South Shootout scheduled for November 6&7, 2009 at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC.

Two-day reserved grandstand tickets are available for the top-three rows of seating for only $40 each. Those purchased prior to February 25 will also include a free pit pass. Two-day general grandstand admission is only $20. Children tickets (ages 6-13) are available for $15. Kids five and under are free.

Prepaid passes are available to competing teams until February 25, 2009, by logging on to northsouthshootout.com or by calling (508) 847-0565. A two-day pit pass will be available to the general public for $50. A Saturday only pit pass will be available for only $40.

The Frostbite Winter Nationals will feature time trials, heat races, a “Last Chance” race (if necessary) and a 125 lap main event for the Modifieds.
