New England Racing Fuel Debuts New Participation in SMS Contingency Program at 38th Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler
Stafford Springs, CT — Thanks to New England Racing Fuel with Mike Joy and John Holland, SK Modified® and Late Model competitors who utilize the new SMS Spec Engine program during the 2009 season can look forward to being rewarded with gasoline from the SMS Contingency Program. New England Racing Fuel will provide a weekly fuel certificate of $25 towards the purchase of Sunoco 260 GTX gasoline to the top-3 finishing SK Modified® and Late Model cars who are competing with the new SMS Spec Engine in each feature event during the 2009 season. The first such bonus will be awarded this weekend as the SMS competitors take to the track for the 38th Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler.
New England Racing Fuel will also continue to contribute fuel certificates in the amount of $50 to third place finishers in each SK Modified® and Late Model feature event, and a $25 fuel certificate to the first, second, and third place finishers in each SK Light Modified, Limited Late Model, and DARE Stock feature events, bringing New England Racing Fuel’s total contribution to $425 in gasoline certificates available every Friday night to Stafford competitors, an increase of $150 from prior seasons.
New England Racing Fuel is a charter member of the SMS contingency program, with 2009 marking the 11th consecutive season that co-owners Mike Joy and John Holland have been members of the SMS Contingency Program.
“We’re excited to be back at Stafford for another season,” said John Holland of New England Racing Fuel. “Stafford is a great partner to be a associated with, they have a first rate facility, great racing, and it’s a fun family atmosphere each Friday night at the track. Mike [Joy] and I are always looking for ways to be able to give something back to the drivers and tracks, and we like to be able to put something directly into the competitors hands, and we’ve found that the contingency program at Stafford has been one of the best ways for us to do that.”
“We’re happy to have New England Racing Fuel and Sunoco as part of the contingency program for another season,” stated SMS CEO Mark Arute. “John and Mike have always been great supporters of racing here at Stafford, and their new participation with our spec engine cars is further proof of the commitment from New England Racing Fuel as well as the track to be able to offer some cost savings to our weekly competitors. Mike and John have been with us as part of the contingency program since the beginning and their support of our weekly competitors just keeps getting bigger and better.”
