Seekonk Speedway to Try Again on Saturday
Seekonk, MA — On Saturday, Seekonk Speedway will run the continuation of their opening day program. Rain began just shy of the halfway point in the second Pro Stock qualifier and would not relent, forcing the postponement of rest of the program. With over half the program completed, management decided to continue the program beginning on Saturday, May 9.
The program will start with the addition of qualifiers for the Pure Stocks, followed by the continuation of the second Pro Stock heat. The Street Stocks will follow with their last chance consolation. The Pure Stocks, Seekonk Sport Trucks, Late Models and Street Stocks will open their season. The show will conclude with a 75 lap main event for the ARC Pro Stocks, with $2,000.00 to the winner. The winner will also be a guaranteed starter in the PASS 150 on August 15.
A strong field of competitors were on hand to open the 64th season of racing at The Action Track of the East, with over 30 Street Stocks, 16 Late Models, 19 Pro Stocks, 22 Pure Stocks and 17 Seekonk Sport Trucks. Additional entries are expected for the main events on Saturday.
All patrons who attended on Sunday will be able to use their opening day ticket to catch the remainder of the program. All tickets must be redeemed at the ticket window for admission. If you missed opening day and want to catch the culmination of the 64th season opener, ticket prices for adults and seniors has been reduced to $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for seniors. Kids 12 and under are free. Six pack sized coolers are allowed, with glass, cans and alcohol not permitted. Also, personal chairs and stadium style seating are restricted as well.
