Joey Polewarczyk Jr. Scores Second Career Oxford Plains Speedway Win

Oxford, ME — Joey Pole battled Ricky Rolfe during the early stages of the New England Dodge Dealers 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway as the first 84 laps were run caution free. After one of the two cautions Rolfe had carburetor issues and fell back in the pack. Pole took advantage of the opportunity and broke away from the field chased by Tim Brackett. Brackett and Pole swapped the lead with Pole running exclusively in the outside groove.

The second and final caution came on lap 96, but Pole would not be denied during the final 54 laps. He was followed to the line by John Donahue and Brackett. The 150 green flag laps were completed in 53 minutes and slowed by two cautions due to minor spins. Eighteen of the thirty cars that started the race finished on the lead lap.

Pole gained ground in the point standings on leader and seemingly invincible Scott Payea. Payea finished 19th, the first car down a lap, ending his run of three top threes to begin the 2009 season. With the win, Pole becomes the fifth qualifier for the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Also qualifying today was Patrick Laperle who took home the win in the Series ACT Castrol St-Eustache 100.

The ACT Tour is back in action next weekend for the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day 150 on Sunday May 24th.
