Pro Stocks get ready for second Cirelli Marketplace 150 Qualifier

Seekonk, MA — On Saturday, June 20, the ARC Pro Stocks will compete in a 75 lap main event, with $2,000 up for grabs for the winner. In addition to the extra dollars, the winner will be a guaranteed starter in the first Cirelli Marketplace P.A.S.S. 150 on August 15.

Dave Darling is already a guaranteed starter in what is being billed as one of the biggest Pro Stock event at the birthplace of the Pro Stock.

It was in the mid-seventies when D Anthony Venditti came up with an affordable alternative to the high priced open wheel modifieds. In 1978, the Pro Stock division was born. That same year, D Anthony was voted as the 1978 Promoter of the Year at the annual workshops in Daytona. There is no doubt, the Pro Stocks were a big part of that. In 1980, the modifieds were replaced at the Cement Palace with the Pro Stocks, which were now the headlining division. Over the next decade, the Pro Stocks took a foothold in New England, and just about every track in New England was running a Pro Stock division.

ACT standout Joey Polewarczyk Jr., who picked up his first career ACT win at Seekonk is scheduled to compete for the guaranteed starting position in a car owned by Eric DeSouza. In addition to Joey Pole, Seekonk regulars Fred Astle Jr, Tom Scully Jr and Sr, Ken Spencer and more will try to pick up the second guaranteed spot. Dave Darling would like nothing better than to pick up both spots.

The Late Models, Street Stocks and Seekonk Sport Trucks will also be in competition. Gates open at 4, with the first qualifier at 6pm. General admission is $12.00 for adults, kids 12 and under FREE. For more information, check the website at Seekonkspeedway.com.
