NEMA Lites to join Seekonk Speedway Fast Friday Series
Seekonk, MA — On Friday, June 19, the Fast Friday series will once again attempt to open the season. With two weeks of rain, the anticipation is high among competitors and officials to get this entry level night season underway. The Pure Stocks have already competed twice in 2009, with Nick Uhrig picking up the win in both events. Also on the Fast Friday schedule are the Seekonk Youth Racing Association, which will compete in two classes, and the all new Sport4 division. Just as the Pure Stocks are designed with the novice in mind, the Sport4 class will run basic stock 4 cylinder cars with no modifications to the vehicles, with the exception of safety items. There is also the Kart series in the pit track which is held in conjunction with the 1/3 mile competition.
The NEMA Lites, which was created in a similar fashion as the Fast Friday Series, is intended for those with little or no experience, looking to get some seat time and experience in an open cockpit midget. This will be the first of four stand-alone events for the NEMA Lites in 2009 at Seekonk Speedway.
