Rain Forces Thompson to Reschedule True Value Modified Race

Thompson, CT — A persistent and heavy rain and an unforgiving forecast caused Thompson International Speedway to reschedule the June 18th Town Fair Tire 75 for the True Value Modified Series. The new date for the race will be Thursday, July 23rd. The published schedule of events for the June 18th race will be the same when this extremely popular race program returns on July 23rd.

The True Value Modifieds will also be joined by Thompson’s NASCAR Whelen All American Series “Super 6” racing divisions. “It’s a shame that the persistent weather pattern has forced us to reschedule this race program. We know how popular this event is with race fans and that a large number of them were looking forward to seeing it tonight. However, we will run the very same program on July 23rd.  Fans can now make plans to attend the Town Fair Tire 75 in only a few more weeks,” said track owner Don Hoenig.

Thompson will resume its Thursday Night Thompson Thunder race program next week with the exciting NASCAR Whelen All American Super 6 divisions plus a rescheduled Mini Stock race. This will make for seven feature races to be held next week, June 25th. The following week, July 2nd, will be another big night as Thompson will play host to the NEMA midgets and a 50-lap feature race for the track’s premier division, the Sunoco Modifieds.

For more information on racing at Thompson, fans are urged to visit the track’s web page at www.thompsonspeedway.com.   Fans may also call the track office at 860-923-2280.
