Experience the Award-Winning Hospitality of Legendary “Cheers” Bartender at LENOX Industrial Tools 301
Loudon, NH — Eddie Doyle, Hall of Fame Bartender and part of the inspiration for the lead character of the popular television sitcom “Cheers,” will be serving race fans at the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on Sunday, June 28.
Doyle worked at “Cheers” from 1974, when it was known as the Bull and Finch Pub, until February of this year. Well-liked because of his warm attitude, Doyle rose to fame in the Boston area, earning numerous awards including his induction into Bartender Magazine’s “National Hall of Fame.”
“Eddie Doyle is an icon in the world of bartending,” said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. “It is our pleasure to have him as our guest, and we are honored that he could offer his services here at the speedway. This is a unique opportunity for race fans to experience the hospitality that Boston pub-goers were accustomed to.”
When “Cheers” show creator Glen Charles was looking for a bar to model his set after, he was attracted to the idea of Doyle’s level of fame from tending bar. He went on to create Sam Malone, Ted Danson’s retired baseball player/bartender character. The Bull and Finch Pub later changed its name to “Cheers” to capitalize on the show’s success.
Doyle will be at the Budweiser Hospitality Tent at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
