Tickets on Sale for Annual North-South Shootout
Lexington, NC — This week C&C Racing Promotions kicked off tickets sales for the prestigious 7th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout (TM), scheduled for November 6&7, 2009 at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC.
Traditionally the event hosts the northern and southern modified stars in an all-out duel for racing supremacy with some of the biggest names in Modified racing including the likes of Ted Christopher, Matt Hirschman, Donny Lia, Junior Miller, Burt Myers, Brian Loftin, and countless others. The event features 125 laps of green flag racing for the mighty Modifieds. The SK-Type Modifieds, an equally as competitive and tenacious brand of open-wheel racing, compete in a 50-lapper of their own. Joining the open-wheel brethren are the authentic and very racy vintage modified and sportsman divisions.
It is never too early to buy tickets for this tremendous event that has gained a reputation as being the most-anticipated of the year. The hottest ticket in town is available by logging onto northsouthshoot.com or by calling C&C Racing Promotions at (336) 250-4383.
Over the last few years C&C Racing Promotions has incorporated a variety of racing divisions/series into the North-South Shootout in an effort to compliment the already potent race program. For 2009, C&C Racing Promotions feels they have found the proper chemistry with the Late Models of the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour. This year C&C has invited the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour to become part of the heritage that is the North-South Shootout.
The ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will add a host of new talent from ranks of full-fendered racing to the already impressive roster of the annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout™. Fans of the Shootout can see and enjoy “how the other half lives”.
In a tenuous economic climate, C&C Racing Promotions has once again frozen the price of admission tickets to the annual event. Helping to once again bring a real value to the racing community, prices for the Shootout have not seen an increase in five years.
“We started pricing the tickets this way back in 2003,” said Charles Kepley of Lexington, NC, owner and promoter of the North-South Shootout. “It’s fair, so we have stuck with it. Thanks to the teams that compete each year, fans get the best bang for their buck.”
Two-day adult general admission is only $35.00 and children’s tickets are available for ages 7-13 for only $25.00 each. Children 6 and under are free with a paid adult. The top-row VIP tickets are available for only $50.00. Adult tickets purchased in advance will allow the bearer entry to the Concord Speedway pit area at no extra-charge. Some restrictions apply.
The North-South Shootout continues to be one of only a few race events to offer hospitality tickets for sale to the general public. Climate-controlled hospitality-style seating is available for $60 per seat/per person while supplies last. Demand for these tickets is high, interested parties are encouraged to act quickly.
The North-South Shootout began in 2001 from an idea of long-time friends and Modified supporters, Kepley and the late Josh Jenkins. The event is a throwback to the golden days of Modified racing and a celebration of racing excellence. In 2007, after the untimely death of accomplished Modified racer John Blewett III, the event was renamed to honor his memory. Today, the event is considered by many to be the marquee event of short track racing. In 2009, the North-South Shootout promises to be the fastest, most exciting short track racing event of the year.
