PRACTICE: TC Still Fastest

Bristol, TN –In two of the three practice sessions in preparation for Wednesday night’s UNOH Perfect Storm 150, Ted Christopher paced the field.

After putting up the fast time under the lights Tuesday night, Christopher backed it up in Wednesday morning’s practice session. The UNOH Perfect Storm 150 is Wednesday’s combination race between the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.

Christopher, the current NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader, had a fast lap Wednesday at 14.957 seconds (128.288 mph). James Civali, who is looking to make his first race of the season, was second fastest at 14.990 (128.005). Rowan Pennink was third at 15.002 (127.903), while Andy Seuss was fourth overall and the top NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour driver at 15.036 (127.614).

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Kasey Kahne and Ryan Newman were 13th and 18th, respectively. Thirty-seven cars took time Wednesday morning.

Tuesday, Christopher turned the fastest lap among the 41 cars on the track at 14.951 seconds during the 80-minute session.

NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour competitor Burt Myers was second-fastest at 15.039, and was followed on the speed charts by Mike Stefanik (NWMT) at 15.080, Erick Rudolph (NWMT) at 15.096 and Donny Lia (NWMT) at 15.110.

The final practice is slated for 11-11:50 a.m. Qualifying is set for 3 p.m. and the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 is scheduled to go green at 6:15 p.m. SPEED’s coverage of the race will be on a 45-minute tape delay starting at 7 p.m.
