Seekonk Sport Trucks shine this week in the Kraze’s Speed Equipment 30. Pro4 Modifieds return with the Kraze’s Powder Puff for Breast Cancer Awareness

Seekonk, MA — Kraze’s Speed Equipment of Seekonk, MA joins forces with Seekonk Speedway for the third Annual Seekonk Sports Truck Special. The feature will run 30- laps in distance, and pit the best of the division against each other in an extra distance event. Charlie Rose Jr is the defending winner of this event.

So far in 2009, only Rick Martin and Jody Tripp have visited Victory Lane, but there have been a few who have come close. Kyle DeSouza gave up the top spot in the extra distance mid-season Championship, which also ran 30 laps. Several more weeks of experience may help the rookie find Victory Lane for the first time. Russ Borges has stepped up to the plate over the past couple of weeks to put pressure on the lead duo, and will be looking to become the third winner in the division this season. Other favorites include Lenny Guy, John Paiva, Mike Ronhock and Hugh Bowser.

Also on tap will be the return of the Pro4 Modifieds, for their third appearance of the season. On their first visit on June 6th, Stormin Norman Wrenn broke through for his first win at Seekonk, beating out George Sherman, Robin Berghman, Matt Sagar and Phil Lausier.

When the Pro4’s returned as part of the Open Wheel Wednesday program, Wrenn had to settle for second, as Cory “The Cub” Cleary returned to Seekonk’s Victory Lane, just edging out the defending Pro4 Champion. Brian Vincent was third, with George Sherman and Robin Berghman rounding out the top five.

Also on the card will be the Kraze’s Pro4 Powder Puff “Race for a Cure”. This race will feature the female families and friends of the Pro4 Modified drivers in a 20 lap shootout. This event is to help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer research. Seekonk Speedway secretary Gail Pangelinan is scheduled to debut behind the wheel of the Kraze’s Speed Equipment #29. Deb Lausier was the winner in the first ever Race for a Cure Powder Puff held earlier at the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, as part of the 4 Cylinder Nationals, presented by Kraze’s Speed Equipment. Toni Wright, Samantha Diamond, Heather Olson and Sally Gherardi were the top five in that event.

The ARC Pro Stocks will return after a 2 week hiatus, and all sights will be on Dave Darling, Fred Astle Jr and Tom Scully Jr, as they fight for the 2009 Pro Stock Crown. Darling is the points leader with four races left on the schedule, and currently holds a 17 point advantage over the defending title holder, Astle. Scully, coming off the biggest win of his career just two weeks ago at the Cirelli Foods 150 with the PASS Tour, is 12 points behind Astle, making this a three dog fight in the final weeks. Mike Brightman is still in the hunt in fourth, with Rob Murphy rounding out the top five in the standings. The Street Stocks will also be in action with a 25 lap feature event. The Late Models will be idle for the night, and return on September 5, with a 50 lap main event.

Adult admission is just $12.00, with kids 12 and under FREE. For ticket and event information, check us out at seekonkspeedway.com.
