TBARA Sprint Cars Join North-South Shootout Slate
Lexington, NC — In an effort to keep the tradition of the annual North-South Shootout ™ strong, C&C Racing Promotions has reached an agreement to bring the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association (TBARA) to the 7th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout on November 6&7, 2009 at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC. The Tampa Bay Area Racing Association has raced consistently for 30 plus years in Florida and neighboring states. The TBARA has historically provided fans with some of the most exciting asphalt sprint car racing.
“We are committed to delivering the fastest, most exciting short track race of the year,” said owner and Promoter, Charles Kepley of Lexington, NC. “The TBARA Sprint cars are a great fit.”
In addition to a full seasonal schedule, the series that features winged Sprint cars had made yearly visits to the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway during race weeks in February. Notable competitors on the TBARA circuit include the veteran Dave Steele, Troy DeCaire, Greg Leonard, Joey Aguilar and Shane Butler.
The TBARA competitors will be eligible to participate in the practice being hosted by Concord Speedway on Thursday, November 5, 2009. The Series will qualify on Friday night with the feature event taking place on Saturday, November 7, 2009.
C&C Racing continually searches for support divisions that can stand up to the reputation of the ground-pounding Modifieds. The TBARA Sprint cars will provide a compliment to the Tour-Type Modifieds and the SK-Type Modifieds that are the mainstay of the annual event.
