C&C Racing Promotion Announces Change to NSS Line-Up

Lexington, NC — On Monday, September 14, 2009, C&C Racing Promotions announced plans to change the line-up of the 7th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout scheduled for November 6&7, 2009 at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC. The ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour originally scheduled to be part of the festivities will no longer be part of the two-day event.

“It was only after long and careful consideration that we came to this very difficult decision,” said Promoter, Charles Kepley. “With the uncertainty that currently surrounds the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour we felt that it would be in the best interest of the race and the competitors to terminate the relationship at this time. Anyone can fall on hard times and we will not stand in judgment, we will just move forward.”

The Tour-Type Modifieds of the North and the South will continue to be the crown jewel of the annual event. Support divisions will include the popular SK-Type Modifieds, TBARA Sprint cars, and the Vintage Modifieds.

The format for the seventh annual event will boast time trials, heat races, and consolation event(s) for the Tour-Type Modifieds and SK-Type Modifieds. A full schedule can be found on the events official website www.northsouthshootout.com.

An announcement is expected in the coming days as C&C Racing Promotions explores four different opportunities to include Late Models into the schedule. Kepley and company will make a decision after determining which of the options on the table is the best fit for the North South Shootout.

“ All of us at C&C Racing Promotions admire the efforts that John Keyes has made and continues to make in support of his Series,” concluded Kepley. “We wish him the very best of luck and hope to keep the door open for opportunities in years to come.”

The North-South Shootout promises to provide the fastest most exciting short track race of the season with a host of open wheel and full-fendered racing action. For complete details visit northsouthshootout.com.
