John Materas Clinches Late Model Title
John Materas of Voluntown, CT claimed the 2009 Late Model championship at the Thompson International Speedway on Thursday, September 17th. A strong performance all season, including four wins, proved to be enough to earn Materas the title a week before the final points races. Championships in the remaining five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will be decided on Thursday, September24th.
.. With one week remaining in the regular racing season, the pressure is on as race teams try to secure one of the remaining five division championships up for grabs. The points competition in each of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions is red hot. Going into the last event only one driver has clinched one of the coveted titles.
