PRACTICE: TC tops chart
Stafford Springs, CT — Points leader Ted Christopher led the way in practice Sunday morning for the CARQUEST Fall Final at Stafford Motor Speedway.Christopher’s lap of 18.282 seconds (98.457 mph) led the way for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on the .500-mile oval. Eric Berndt, who won the Coors Light Pole Award the last time the tour was at Stafford in August, was second at 18.381 (97.927).Doug Coby was forth at 18.392 (97.869), followed by Donny Lia and Tim Arre. Todd Szegedy was 10th and Ryan Preece 15th in practice.
Christopher leads Lia by one points, Preece by 12 and Szegedy by 37 entering the second-to-last race of the season.
Because of rain Saturday, Sunday’s revised schedule calls for the Whelen Modified Tour to qualify at 1:30 p.m. with the race set for approximately 4 p.m.
