Fall Classic 150 Rescheduled

Season Finale To Be Held Oct. 24

Daytona Beach, FL — After rain forced a postponement of the Fall Classic 150 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race originally scheduled for last Saturday at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C., a make-up date has been scheduled.

The Fall Classic 150 will now be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m.

While the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will crown its 2009 champion at the rescheduled event as George Brunnhoelzl III, will just need to start the event to claim the title, there are still several more points battles to be decided in the top 10.

NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour director Sherry Clifton added that track owner Russ Hackett wanted to make sure the season ended with every position decided on the track.

“Mr. Hackett realizes that NASCAR Championships are rare, sometimes once-in-a-lifetime events,” Clifton said. “Russ felt with so many points positions still up for grabs, it was important to give every team their final chance to do their best and we appreciate the Hackett family’s dedication and support of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.”

Practice will begin at 4:30 p.m. for the NWSMT cars, with qualifying at 6:30 and the green flag set to fly at 8 p.m. for the Fall Classic 150. Caraway Speedway will also hold five other local division races that night highlighted by a 30-lap sportsman race.
