Casagrande Motorsports Gears Up for an Exciting 2010

Stafford Springs, CT — A fixture in the Stafford Speedway pit in the last couple of years, Casagrande Motorsports will become a two-car team in 2010. Kyle Casagrande will continue to drive his number 7 Casagrande Builders Buick Regal, but he will now have to compete with teammate and brother Cory Casagrande.

“I’m definitely looking forward to racing with my little brother in the 2010 season. He has a lot of potential and we are hoping to be one of the top teams in the Dare Stock division in the 2010 season,” says Kyle Casagrande.

2009 saw an up and down year for Casagrande Motorsports. Each week Kyle had the car to beat, but bad luck stalked the 18 year old throughout the year. A win on July 3rd was the pinnacle of his season. Now with two full seasons under his belt, Kyle looks to make a run at the 2010 championship and help brother and teammate Cory Casagrande make the jump to the half-mile.

Though Cory will be a Dare Stock rookie in 2010, he is a seasoned racer. The Wild Thing Kart Series, the weekly kart series that races on the Stafford Mini Mile on Monday nights, has been the stomping grounds for the future of racing. Cory will be the second racer to make the jump from Karts to the Dare Stock division, the first being brother Kyle. Both raced together for over two years in the Junior and Senior Outlaw divisions where heated action and sibling rivalry raged on and off the track.

“Kyle and Cory always put on a great show in the kart series,” says Wild Thing Kart promoter and race director Wade Gagner. “They remind me of the Christopher brothers when they raced together, never giving the other an inch. That is what these kids do they push each other to their limits and each of them always give a 110%.”

This makes for an exciting plot for the 2010 Dare Stock season where Kyle and Cory Casagrande will try to dodge the bad luck bullet and challenge for wins and a championship. They will not only contend with each other they will also see a strong class of cars returning for the 2010 season.

“I am very excited for 2010,” said father and car owner Rick Casagrande. “I expect both Kyle and Cory to race well together and respect each other, they both have top notch BFR chassis and great horsepower from R.A.D Auto Machine. We hope to stay out of trouble and be contending for a championship come September.”

Cory will make his Stafford Motor Speedway debut behind the wheel of the #1 Casagrande Builders Buick Saturday April 23-25th at the 39th Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler Presented by CARQUEST. Along with the SK Lights and Limited Late Models, the Dare Stocks will open up their 2010 season with a feature on Saturday April 24th. The SK Modifieds®, Late Models, and Whelen Modified Tour will be on the card Sunday April 25th for an afternoon of exciting racing.
