Interest High In Canaan Fair Speedway’s New Late Model Sportsman Division

CANAAN, NH — Close to sixty people filed into the Canaan Fair Speedway Banquet Hall this past Saturday afternoon to gather information about the all new Late Model Sportsman Division that has been proposed by CFS new General Manager, Dick Therrien.

“Due to the tremendous amount of interest in this class from numerous competitors, we felt it was in our best interest to see if the support was there to put the wheels in motion for this class in 2010. I was overwhelmed by the turnout. We were hoping to see twenty-five or thirty people attend, but when we doubled that number I really got excited, stated Therrien. Everyone in attendance was receptive to our plan on making this an easy transition for just about any Late Model from any track or series to participate. From the mission statement, to the purse, rules packages and tire program, everyone seemed excited and enthused.”

“I was extremely happy to have Wes Smith from New England Outdoor Furnaces of Claremont on hand, as he addressed the crowd in a very positive manor. New England Outdoor Furnaces will be sponsoring the new Late Model Sportsman division at CFS in 2010. Mr. Smith is as excited about this division as I am. I am looking forward to working with his company, and marketing his product here in Canaan. They will also be sponsoring an event on the dirt track in 2010.”

Final rules and information will be posted in the near future on our website, www.canaanfairspeedways.com. For more information you can also call Dick Therrien at 802-274-8823 or e-mail the track at dprdick@myfairpoint.net.
