Série ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge Fourth at Daytona

2009 Série ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge and his brother Benoit finished fourth in the Fresh From Florida 200 on Friday, January 29. The first event on the 2010 Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Challenge schedule was run around the Daytona International Speedway road course.

The Theetge brothers competed in the Street Tuner (ST) Class while driving the #77 Skunk2/Auto Frank et Michel Honda Civic Si for Compass360 racing. They finished 27th overall (out of 75 competitors) and fourth in the ST Class after completing 63 laps (220.5 miles) on the 3.5 mile road course. They finished the race in two hours and ten minutes with an average speed of 88.79 mph.

Donald is the current career wins leader on the Série ACT Castrol with 14, including two in his 2009 championship campaign. He was also the 2006 Série Nationale Castrol Champion. Donald’s brother Benoit is a road course racer with past experience driving for the Ontario based Compass360 racing team. Friday’s event was the first time that the brothers have raced together.

Donald has filed a full season entry for the American based ACT Tour for the 2010 season, which is set to begin on Sunday, April 18 at Lee USA Speedway. The 2010 ACT Tour schedule consists of a total of 14 events, including the first ever trip to Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Sunday, April 25. The 12 race Série ACT Castrol season will begin at Autodrome St-Eustache on Saturday, May 22.
