New Haven Truck & Auto Body Late Model Team featuring Dream-Team Two Driver Lineup for 2010 Season at Stafford

Stafford Springs, CT — When the green flag drops on the 2010 Late Model season at Stafford Motor Speedway, the New Haven Truck and Auto Body Late Model team at Stafford Motor Speedway will feature a dream two-car lineup. New Haven Truck and Auto Body has lined up former Late Model track champions Corey Hutchings and Woody Pitkat to drive their #87 and #88 cars respectively for the 2010 season at Stafford.

“We’re looking at ourselves as the dream team this year,” said team owner Billy Snow, Sr. “Woody ran our car last year and he committed to the car towards the end of the year and Corey was searching for a Late Model team to get involved with, so we thought we’d pair him up with Woody. Right now, we are a two-car team and a third car is a possibility for this season as well.”

Both drivers have impressive pedigree in Stafford’s Late Model division. Pitkat has amassed 19 career victories in the Late Model division and was the 2006 Late Model track champion, while Hutchings has 3 career Late Model wins and won the 2007 Late Model track championship in his rookie season at Stafford. The team’s best career finish in the division was a second place run that Pitkat put in last August, but Snow feels like his team is primed to break down the barrier to CARQUEST Victory Lane this season.

“Both Corey and Woody go for all they can get every time they get into the car,” said Snow. “That’s what we want with our drivers. They’re already talking about having to beat each other to win the championship this season. When they are talking like that, they’re like the quarterback of a football team. Their winning attitude spreads throughout the team and lifts the confidence of everyone. They’re obviously both championship drivers and our team is ready to prove that they are a winning team. Usually during the off-season, we count who wasn’t at the shop on a given night. So far, we haven’t had one missed night. Everyone is excited about our chances this year.”

Although the New Haven Truck and Auto Body team have yet to win a race at Stafford, a victory during the 2010 season would be a huge accomplishment and the team expects to be in victory lane often during the year.

“A win this year would be huge,” said Snow. “All the hard work that everyone has put in over the last 4 or 5 years to help build this program up to where we are now, it would be a really big deal to win. Whether it’s finishing first, second, or third, we want to be on that podium as many times as possible this year. Both Corey and Woody feel like they can be a top-5 car every week and we’d like to be able to put at least one of our cars in the top-3 every Friday night. We’re putting the best equipment under Corey and Woody as we can, we’ll just have to adjust the cars to their driving preferences and what they feel they need in the car setup.”

Snow’s cars are typically some of the most colorful in the division, and Snow promises that the 2010 season will be no different in the paint scheme department.

“We’re coming out with some new color schemes for this season,” said Snow. “The fans in the grandstands will definitely be able to identify our cars and who is driving them. We’re going to go a little bit out of the box towards special schemes for our cars like you would see at the Sprint Cup level; we won’t have just a black car with a number on it.”

Coming soon, Snow and his team will have a preview of their Late Model cars, from the building stages to the completed product that fans will see on the track, on their website at www.newhaventruckandautobody.net.
