Spring Sizzler Sunday Racing Postponed to Saturday, May 1st
CARQUEST Special Extra Distance Night Scheduled for April 30th
Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway has postponed its Sunday racing activities of the 39th Annual CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler to Saturday, May 1st with a rain date of Sunday, May 2nd. The postponement of the Sunday Tech-Net Spring Sizzler racing card has created a unique weekend of racing at Stafford Motor Speedway. Stafford Motor Speedway has transformed its opening night race program on April 30th into CARQUEST Special Extra Distance Night highlighted by extra distance events for the SK Light Modified, Limited Late Model, and DARE Stock divisions with the remainder of the 39th Annual CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler running Saturday, May 1st.
The CARQUEST Special Extra Distance Night on Friday, April 30th will showcase the SK Lights in a special 30-lap feature event, the Limited Late Models in a special 25-lap feature, and the DARE Stocks in a special 20-lap event. Tickets for CARQUEST Special Extra Distance Night are only $10.00 for adults, while children 6-14 are $5.00 and children 5 & under are free as always. Pit Passes for CARQUEST Special Extra Distance Night will be $20.00. Paddock gates will open at 3:00pm with practice running from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Qualifying heats will begin at 7:00pm with the three extra distance feature events taking to the track after the completion of qualifying.
The postponed CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler will be run on Saturday, May 1st with a rain date of Sunday, May 2nd. The paddock area will open at 7:00am and Stafford’s famous CARQUEST Belts and Hose Pit Party will kick things off from 11:15am-12:15 pm. Following the CARQUEST Belts and Hose Pit Party will be practice sessions for Stafford’s SK Modified® and Late Model divisions from 12:30pm-1:00pm with the Whelen Modified Tour practicing from 1:00pm-1:30pm. Feature racing will begin at 2:00pm with the 40-lap SK Modified® feature. The 30-lap Late Model feature will follow the SK Modified® feature and the 200-lap CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler for the Whelen Modified Tour will take the green flag at approximately 3:15pm and will close out the day’s racing activities. Rain checks for today’s CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler will be honored on Saturday, May 1st.
