Whelen Modified Tour Postponed At Stafford
Tech-Net Spring Sizzler Presented By CARQUEST To Run May 1
Stafford Springs, CT — Due to rain in the area on Sunday, and more forecasted throughout the day, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s race at Stafford Motor Speedway has been postponed to Saturday, May 1.
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was to take the green flag today in the Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST at 2:30 p.m. The tentative start time for the rescheduled race next Saturday is 3:15 p.m.
Action yesterday at Stafford was highlighted by a record-setting performance in qualifying from Bobby Santos, whose fast lap of 17.965 seconds (100.195 mph) surpassed Matt Hirschman’s three-year-old record of 18.009 (99.950). Santos will be joined in the front row next Saturday by Doug Coby when the 200-lap Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST takes the green flag.
