Laticrete Renews Sponsorship of Lee Modified Race
Bethany, CT –In a joint announcement, LATICRETE INTERNATIONAL Inc. and the Lee (N.H.) Speedway are proud to announce a sponsorship agreement to present the LATICRETE Port City 100 for the Modified Racing Series presented by Bob Valenti Auto Mall.com on Friday, July 9, featuring an increased purse for every finishing position as a result.
This agreement allows nearly all of the sponsorship money to go directly to the race teams, bringing the first place prize money for 2010 to a minimum of $3,000 thanks to additional money provided by race fan Jim Schaefer from Long Island. Twenty-four drivers will earn a minimum of $500 to start the event.
The first annual LATICRETE sponsored event in 2009 saw Jimmy Kuhn of East Bridgewater, Ma., winning his first-ever series race, as he took the lead in the final few laps of an exciting event that brought a competitive field of drivers and a near capacity crowd to the NASCAR sanctioned facility.
LATICRETE, founded more than 50 years ago, is the innovator of tile and stone installation systems. Since revolutionizing the tile and stone industry in 1956 with the invention of thin-set mortar adhesive, LATICRETE has continued its commitment to innovation, expertise and service.
The 2010 version of this event, with additional purse money added by LATICRETE, combined with additional monetary donations from race fans, is sure to bring a talented field of Modified drivers to “New Hampshire’s Center of Speed”.
“From tractor pulling to regional NASCAR support, racing is an exciting opportunity for us to support those people that support us. Plus, it’s really an exciting sport that allows us to get our name in front of a lot of great fans,” commented Maria Oliveira, Corporate Marketing Manager at LATICRETE.
Modified race teams from no less than six states are expected to attempt to make the LATICRETE Port City 100 through a series of qualifying races. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competitors Rowan Pennink, Doug Coby, Chris Pasteryak, Eric Goodale and Andy Seuss will be among those competing against MRS drivers Jon McKennedy, Dwight Jarvis, Mike Ordway Jr., and many more.
The 2009 LATICRETE Port City 100 race winner Jimmy Kuhn is looking forward to returning for this special event that is among the highest paying races of the MRS Tour season.
“We are only planning to run ten races this season, but the LATICRETE race is right at the top of our list,” Kuhn admitted. “Winning that race last year was a big win for us. Besides that, we always enjoy racing at Lee.”
Friday night July 9 marks the return of the Modified Racing Series and LATICRETE to the Lee USA Speedway for one big event. For informational updates log onto the track website at: www.leeusaspeedway.com.
