PRACTICE: Santos On Top With Limited Laps
Fastest among 33 cars at Stafford Motor Speedway
Stafford Springs, CT — Bobby Santos was fastest among 33 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competitors taking to the track on Friday during practice for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 at Stafford Motor Speedway.
Despite only running seven laps, Santos registered the fastest time of the session with a lap of 18.145 seconds (99.201 mph) in the Mystic Missile Dodge.
Santos, who has the early lead in the championship standings with two races complete, won the pole when the tour visited Stafford earlier this month.
Ted Christopher – who is second to Santos in points – had the second quickest time in practice, with a lap of 18.146 (99.195). Christopher edged Santos for the Stafford win on May 1.
They were followed in practice by Eric Berndt, Rowan Pinnink and Ron Silk. Rounding out the top 10 were Eric Rudolph, Chuck Hossfeld, Jimmy Blewett, George Brunnhoelzl III and James Civali.
Qualifying for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 is slated for 6 pm. on Friday, with the green flag set to wave at approximately 9 p.m.
