Danica Patrick Brings Fire in Her Eyes and Top 10 Streak to New Hampshire – YankeeRacer.com

Danica Patrick Brings Fire in Her Eyes and Top 10 Streak to New Hampshire

Don’t let the stilettos and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition photo spread fool you; Danica Patrick is a race car driver first and foremost.

Indy car racing’s most popular driver has been on one hot top-10 streak the past four weeks. After a sixth-place finish in the Indianapolis 500, she fired back with a near win during the race at Texas, finishing second, and drove a 10th place finish at Iowa this past weekend.

She will be back behind the wheel of the No. 7 Go Daddy Chevrolet for JR Motorsports and team owner Dale Earnhardt, Jr. this Saturday for the New England 200 here at “The Magic Mile,” after a four month hiatus from NASCAR.

“All eyes will be on Danica this weekend,” said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “From her off-track persona to her on track performance, she’ll command the attention of fans and industry insiders alike. I hope she continues her recent streak of top ten finishes!”

Patrick will be the sixth woman to attempt to qualify for a Nationwide Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Tina Gordon (2004), Tammy Jo Kirk (2003), Patty Moise (1990, 1996, 1998), and Shawna Robinson (1992, 1993) have qualified and raced at the speedway. Kim Crosby (2005) did not qualify in her attempt to make the field at NHMS.

Advance tickets sales are up for Saturday’s tripleheader day that features NASCAR Sprint Cup practice, The Whelen Modified Series New England 100, and the NASCAR Nationwide race. Tickets are still available in advance and at the gate, starting at $25 for adults, children ages 12 to 16 are $5, and children ages 11 and under are free. For more information, please visit us online at www.nhms.com or call our Ticket Hotline at (603) 783-4931.

MEDIA NOTE: For all media, Danica Patrick will be available for a NASCAR video teleconference on June, 22 at 2:30 p.m. Please note all NASCAR’s teleconferences are open to qualified media. For more information contact nhmspr@nhms.com.
