Randy Moretti Rolls to first Pure Stock Victory

Seekonk, MA — On Sunday, August 1, West Warwick RI’s Randy Moretti dominated the 25 lap Pure Stock feature to pick up his first career victory. Randy started on the outside of the front row, and quickly slid past polesitter Amy Arsenault. Randy held on through several cautions and was able to keep Arsenault, and then Earl Curtin III behind him each time.

Curtin picked up his best career finish in his runner-up efforts. Curtin started ninth, and used both the outside and inside lanes to work through the traffic.

Point leader Nick Uhrig started 19th in the 27 car field, and had to overcome a flat right rear tire on lap 10 to take home a fourth place finish. The Warwick native was able to take advantage of several cautions to close on the front of the field, but came up short to continue his Sunday Thrill Show dominance.

Two time winner this season Bill Chouinard started seventh, and took home a fifth place finish.

Previous weeks’ winner John Robidoux was forced to start scratch because of his win, and could only work his way into the top six by the time the checkered flag dropped.

Fast Friday action returns on August 6th, with the Mid Season Championships for the Pure Stocks, Sport4’s, and the Seekonk Youth Racing Association. Front gate admission is just $5 for adults, with kids 12 and under FREE. Action starts at 6pm. For more information, check us out at seekonkspeedway.com.
