PRACTICE: Civali Paces Practice At Caraway
Asheboro, NC — James Civali likes being out front, even in practice. Civali piloted his No. 79 Hill Enterprises/Coors Light/LeBleu Water Pontiac to the front of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified field in a rain-interrupted practice Saturday afternoon at Caraway Speedway for the running of the Triad Commercial Property Services 150.
Civali finished with a fast time of 16.056 seconds (102.018 mph) just 1/100 of a second faster than Tim Brown, who finished with a time of 16.063 seconds in his No. 02 T&C Motorsports Chevrolet. Defending series champion George Brunnhoelzl III, who won three times last season at Caraway Speedway, was third fastest – with Andy Seuss and Johnny Kievman completing the top five.
Civali enters this weekend as the leader in the championship standings, with slim five-point lead over L.W. Miller (974-969).
Because of weather conditions earlier in the day, qualifying has been pushed back to approximately 6:45 p.m. The green flag is expected to fall at 8 p.m. for the Triad Commercial Property Services 150.
