PASS Super Late Model Thunder at White Mountain Friday – YankeeRacer.com

PASS Super Late Model Thunder at White Mountain Friday

Naples, ME — The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models wrap up their tenth anniversary season on Friday September 17 with 150 12 second laps around one of the prettiest short tracks in the country, North Woodstock New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park.

The series has crisscrossed New England since early May and there’s been plenty of excitement along the way. Bill Rodgers (Beech Ridge) and Dave Darling (Seekonk) beat the touring pros at their own game. Ben Rowe saw success with a new team. His dad Mike just kept on winning, scoring twice in his six 2010 PASS starts. Trevor Sanborn finally got his elusive PASS North win, and of course there’s point leader Johnny Clark’s phenomenal season with five wins and twelve top tens in the season’s first twelve events.

Clark took home the big trophy in the series’ first 2010 appearance at the Route 3 oval, but there are a number of familiar names that haven’t made their way into the 2010 win column and they will be looking to White Mountain to wrap up their season on a high note.

It’s an impressive list. Richie Dearborn’s last series win came in this race last season, and his family team will no doubt try to duplicate that win Friday night. Cassius Clark has chased Johnny Clark and Ben Rowe in the point standings all season long, and he’s been in the top five on six occasions, including a strong second place run in last Sunday’s PASS 300. Clark’s last PASS North win came in July 2009 at Riverside, but he knows his way around White Mountain and he’ll be looking to end his season on a winning note. Adam Bates and Travis Benjamin are way, way overdue and there’s 2009 PASS North Rookie of the Year Nick Ribbe and 2010 Rookie of the year candidate Joey Doiron, two drivers that have shown promise all season long. Donnie Whitten gets around White Mountain with the best of them and he will look for a breakthrough win for car owner Peter Petit and crew.

These teams and many more will make the short track kick off to New Hampshire’s’ Fall Speed Weekend a night to remember as the PASS North super late model campaign draws to a close and a 2010 Champion is crowned.

White Mountain’s five weekly divisions will join the PASS super late models on the night’s racing card. The back gate swings open on Friday September 17 at noon, practice is on track from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM and the first qualifier rolls off at 6:00 PM sharp.
