Ryan Newman Dominates F.W. Webb 100 Qualifying
Loudon, NH — NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Ryan Newman continues to dominate in his Whelen Modified Tour car, grabbing the pole for the F.W. Webb 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, his second straight pole at the speedway.
Driving, the No. 7 Aggressive Hydraulics/ Menards Chevrolet Newman turned a lap time of 29.457 at a speed of 129.300 mph. He was the race and pole winner for June’s Whelen Modified Tour race at “The Magic Mile.”
“We have such a great opportunity with Bono (Kevin “Bono” Manion) and those guys, I just have such a love of racing, and these cars are a blast to drive,” said Newman. “It gives you an appreciation for all different types of racecars.”
Qualifying second for Saturday’s F.W. Webb 100 is Ridgefield, Conn. native Todd Szegedy behind the wheel of his No. 2 Wisk/ Snuggle Ford at a speed of 127.816 mph and a lap time of 29.799 seconds.
Ryan Preece will start third driving his No. 3 Cape Cod Copper Chevrolet. Preece qualified at a speed of 127.739 mph turning a lap time of 29.817 seconds.
The F.W. Webb 100 is part of Saturday’s triple header and is slated to begin at 12:45 p.m. The mighty Whelen Modifieds will be followed by NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series RaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 and the American-Canadian Tour Invitational.
