Three-Time Danbury Racearena Champion Kenny Webb Passes at 79
Kenneth Webb, age 79 of New Milford, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, died peacefully in the arms of his wife on Friday, September 17, 2010.
He was born in Somers, N.Y. in 1931 to Frank and Elmira Webb, and sibling to Dorothy Gallo, Margaret Ford and Frank Webb. At age 17 he joined the Navy and served from 1949 to 1952 during the Korean War.
Ken had a passion for racing. A founding member of the Southern New York Racing Association and three time champion, he raced at Danbury Racearena until its closing in 1981.
Ken is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Chuck Gregory, Wendy and Todd Kadota, Kim and Jeff Harrington and Kristin and Matt Schell; one sister, Dorothy Gallo; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Remember him as a man who would give the shirt off his back or go out of his way to help a friend.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Lillis Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
