2011 Gets Even Faster

Loudon, NH — The 2011 racing season will be even faster with more on-track action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway highlighting an action-packed season of speed.

This exciting season will kick off with the second annual FANtasy DRIVE, the ultimate open house and fan appreciation day. On April 23 fans of all ages will have the opportunity to tour the facility for a behind the scenes look at “The Magic Mile,” have their picture taken in victory lane just like NASCAR’s best, or maybe even drive your personal car around the track like this year’s race winners Jimmie Johnson, and Clint Bowyer.

The on-track action will begin once again with the 21st Annual Vintage Celebration. Hundreds of legendary race cars will make their way to “The Magic Mile” on a new date this year, May 9 through May 15 one week earlier than last year. Classic car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see some of the most renowned midgets, sprint cars, champ cars, roadsters, NASCAR stock cars, vintage sports cars, formula cars, and much more take on the 1.058-mile oval and 1.6-mile road course. This week long event will also feature a classic and custom car show along with an automotive flea market.

The oldest motorcycle event in North America will return to NHMS for the 88th consecutive running of the Loudon Classic. Some of the world’s fiercest competitors will take on the tricky 12-turn, road course for over 20 races throughout the weekend. This year the event will take place June 17 through June 19 a week later than 2010.

NASCAR’s elite Sprint Cup Series will make its season debut on July 17, moving from its recent late-June date for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301. Joining the stars of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series will once again be the NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East, and the mighty Whelen Modified Tour.

On August 14, Dario Franchitti, Danica Patrick, Helio Castroneves, and all of the IZOD IndyCar Series stars will bring close wheel-to-wheel action and speeds reaching up to 200 miles per hour back to Loudon, as a “New Breed of Speed” invades New England when the series returns after a 13 year hiatus. This thrilling weekend will also be combined with other great racing events that will soon be announced.

On September 25, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will race their way back to NHMS for the SYLVANIA 300 and the second race in the “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.” This race is sure to be a pivotal element in NASCAR’s version of the playoffs. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East, the Whelen Modified Tour, and the American-Canadian Tour will highlight a weekend full of New England fall racing.
Advanced tickets are available for the 2011 season. NASCAR Sprint Cup tickets for next year range from $39 to $110 and tickets for the IZOD IndyCar Series race are priced from $35 to $75. Fans buying all three events can save an additional 10-percent.
