Loudon, NH — New Hampshire Motor Speedway will kick off the 2011 season of speed with the ultimate fan open house on Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring free fun for the entire family.
This action-packed day will showcase numerous contests, giveaways, exhibits, autograph sessions and much more.
For those who have ever dreamed of performing the national anthem in front of thousands of race fans, the New Hampshire chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities and WGIR’s “The Morning Buzz” will host the first Speedway Star performing competition from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The two winners will perform at either the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, July 16, or the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Guests can also compete to be the honorary grand marshal for an upcoming major event at NHMS. It’s an opportunity to say the most famous words in motorsports, “gentlemen start your engines,” before thousands of screaming race fans.
Back by popular demand, race fans that purchase a ticket on or before April 23, for one of the speedway’s three major motorsports events, the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July 17, the INDYCAR 225 on Aug. 14 or the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 25, will have the opportunity to drive their personal cars around “The Magic Mile,” just like the stars of NASCAR and INDYCAR.
The center garage will feature a variety of displays from local motorsports clubs and organizations. Local drivers will also be on hand for autograph sessions throughout the day.
Representatives from the IZOD INDYCAR Series will conduct a question-and-answer session for fans, gearing them up for INDYCAR’s only New England appearance.
This ultimate fan appreciation day also includes an Easter egg hunt with New Hampshire’s beloved mascot Milo the moose, a behind-the-scenes look at NASCAR race control featuring live timing and scoring, television broadcast booths, New Hampshire Motor Speedway Chairman and CEO Bruton Smith’s luxury suite, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage, victory lane and much more.
