State-of-the-Art Panasonic Video Scoreboard Getting Final Touches
Loudon, NH — A piece of history was removed from New Hampshire Motor Speedway today, while a three-story structure popped up into view, as construction continues on the new $1.2 million Panasonic video scoreboard. The new state-of-the-art scoreboard will be ready when NASCAR and INDYCAR return to the largest sports and entertainment facility in New England this summer.
A 150-ton crane hoisted up the final major piece onto the 80-foot tall scoreboard. The steel frame is the largest component to be added so far and will support three 32-foot-by-18-foot Panasonic TV screens, providing impressive views of race action and instant replays. Below the video boards will be a scrolling leaderboard with color graphics that gives fans running positions and lap times for all 43 drivers, along with interesting race statistics and event information.
The historical seven position “Magic Mile” scoreboard was torn down in preparation for the season of speed. New Hampshire Motor Speedway will auction off the old scoreboard at a later date with all proceeds benefitting the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.
The Season of Speed is fast approaching and tickets for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July, 17, the INDYCAR 225 on Aug. 14 and the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 25 are now on sale.
They can be purchased by calling the NHMS ticket hotline at (603) 783-4931 or by visiting www.nhms.com.
