Tim Rowe Renews Stafford Contingency Sponsorship in Memory of Dave Rowe, Sr.
Stafford Springs, CT — For the past six seasons, The Davidson Company has been part of the Stafford Speedway Contingency Program, offering over $16,000 in bonus money to SK Modified® competitors. Thanks to Tim Rowe, owner of Davidson Racing, LLC., The Davidson Company will return to Stafford’s Contingency Program with a unique new format. Rowe will contribute a total of $150 to the top-3 finishing cars in Stafford’s SK Light Modified division each week during the 2011 NASCAR Whelen All American Series season. The new contingency will be called The Davidson Company in Memory of Dave Rowe, Sr. Award, and will give $75 to each SK Light feature winner, $50 to each second place finisher, and $25 to each third place finisher this year.
“This is a great way to continue the memory of my father and what he started at Stafford,” said Rowe. “Dad loved racing, he loved Stafford Speedway, and most of all he loved being able to help out the competitors, especially the up and coming drivers. That is why we decided to move the contingency from the SK Modified® division to the SK Light Modified division this season. The SK Light division has matured into a great division from it’s beginning with a lot of young up and coming drivers and my father never got to experience the level that the SK Lights are at right now. I think if he was here today, he would have really taken to the SK Lights with all the young drivers that are part of the division. He always wanted to be part of helping a young up and coming driver move up the racing ladder, and it is in that spirit that I am offering this contingency bonus in his memory to the SK Light drivers this season.”
