Ken Schrader Welcomes Vintage Racers

Loudon, NH — Despite the rain and chilly temperatures, diehard vintage racers listened to veteran NASCAR driver Ken Schrader share stories of his racing past, during the Grand Marshal barbeque last night.

Schrader began his racing career on local dirt tracks throughout the Midwest, racing anything he could. He boasts 640 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts and three USAC championships.

He served as the honorary Grand Marshal for the 21st Annual Vintage Racing Celebration, walking around the garage and visiting with fans who share his passion for grassroots racing.

“The history of these cars just amazes me. I love old stuff,” said Ken Schrader. “It is kind of sad though, when you come to a vintage event and you see cars you’ve raced in and raced against.”

Schrader joined New Hampshire Motor Speedway executive vice president and general manager Jerry Gappens for a question and answer session with fans.

“It’s great to have Ken here,” said Gappens. “He is such a down-to-earth racer who races for the love of the sport.”
