Rookie Coates Wins the NETS NH Race

Winchester NH- The New England Truck Series made their first appearance Saturday night June 4 th at the famed Thunder on the Mountain Monadnock Speedway with many spectators in the stands, blue skies, and no rain in site for the night’s events.

NETS twenty-five lap feature race started with Rookie driver Bert Ouellette on the pole along side veteran driver Keith Chapman on the outside, rolling off turn four to a green flag start.

On lap two, Ouellette spins in turn two bringing out the first caution with Chapman dropping back to fourth position. The #38 Ford of Ronnie Oldham, then retired to the infield with mechanical issues ending his night. On lap three, Andy Lindeman takes first position followed by Gee Perry and in tow Corey Coates, races by the start finish line gaining momentum closing up the field. By lap ten, the second caution comes out with a spin in turn one with Ouellette.

As the field resumes racing, Duane Knoll moved up to third position, Coates back to fourth, and Howard Payne in fifth. Jason Lafayette held sixth position with Chapman racing seventh. The laps kept moving on with Chriss and Bubelo pulling up the rear. The last caution came out on lap 21 when Lindeman and Perry came into contact in turn four. The # 12 Chevy of Derek Chriss, shut down on the back stretch which ended his night. The field changed up moving Coates to the first position with Payne, Noll and Chapman in the top four on the restart. On the final lap, Coates crosses the finish line followed by Payne and Noll for the finishing top three of the race.
