88 Years: Loudon Classic Starts Tomorrow
The 88th Loudon Classic will wrap up Motorcycle Week in New Hampshire
Loudon, NH — Motorcyclists from around the country will converge on central New Hampshire this weekend when New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosts the 88th annual Loudon Classic, the oldest motorcycle race in North America.
This tradition-rich event wraps up Motorcycle Week festivities in nearby Laconia, N.H., allowing two-wheel enthusiasts the opportunity to cheer the sport’s top racers and then tour the scenic highways and byways of New England.
This exciting weekend will feature several exciting races throughout the weekend, including the thrilling MOTARD event, the Loudon Road Race Series dash-for-cash event and much more.
Motorcycle fans will want to check out the action-packed, paved short track motorcycle event on Friday. Professional riders will use modified dirt bikes to race the speedway’s quarter-mile oval, which includes turns one and two of the NASCAR track.
During the MOTARD race, competitors will duel on a combination of the 1.6-mile asphalt road course, as well as areas of the track that includes gravel, grass and several high flying jumps. This race showcases Loudon Road Race stars such as Shane Narbonne from Tyngsboro, Mass. and Scott Greenwood of Dunbarton, N.H.
The Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour will return to the speedway for its fifth visit of the 2011 season. Don’t miss this entertaining form of racing on Sunday as well.

The 88th Loudon Classic is part of the 2011 season of speed at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, which also includes the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on July 17, the INDYCAR 225 on Aug. 14 and the SYLVANIA 300, round two of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sept. 25.
