D. A. V. Fall Classic to Close Out 66th Racing Season at Seekonk Speedway

Seekonk, MA — On Saturday and Sunday, October 8th & 9th, Seekonk Speedway will honor the Founder of the Action Track of the East, in an event he made famous with the Fall Classic. Pairing up two of the most exciting divisions in the Northeast, open wheel Modifieds, and the full fendered Pro Stocks in twin 100 lap main events.

Headlining the event will be the Valenti Auto Mall Modifieds, as they invade for their second visit of the season. In the 7 previous Fall Classic visits, there has yet to be a repeat winner. Starting with Les Hinckley, Andy Seuss, Dave Berghman, Chris Pasteryak, Vinny Annarummo, Mike Stefanik and Jon McKennedy have all taken home the prestigious DAV Fall Classic hardware.

Joining them on center stage will be the Pro Stocks, in a 100 lap main event. Dave Darling has become one of the favorites in this event, claiming it twice in the past 5 years. Rick Martin is the all time win leader in Fall Classic history, with over 5 wins. Other recent winners of the Pro Stock portion include 6 time Pro Stock Champion Fred Astle, who won his first and only one in 2009, Tom Scully Jr, and Russ Hersey. With most speedways closed down for the season, Seekonk is expecting several invaders to come down and try to take home the $3,000 winners’ share, not to mention the lap money available to the leader of each lap.

The NEMA Midgets will also celebrate the legacy of D Anthony, at a track where NEMA had their very first event back in 1953. The track was built with the midgets in mind, and the open cockpit winged slingshots have continued to put on some fantastic racing.

Also on the 12 division card will be the Late Models, in a 50 lap main event, the Street Stocks and the Sport Trucks/Mini Stocks in dueling 30 lap features. All of those features will be run on Sunday. On Saturday, along with the qualifying for those 6 classes, the Pro4 Modifieds will compete, as well as the NEMA Lites, as they will run qualifying and features on Saturday.

Seekonk’s Fast Friday classes won’t be left out of the mix. The Pure Stocks, Sport4, and the Seekonk Youth Racing Association will be in action as well. They will also complete their action all on Saturday.

Action for Saturday will start at 1:30, while Sunday will drop the green at 1pm. Front gate admission for the weekend is just $25.00 for adults. Pit admission for the weekend is $35.00. Those tickets are good for Saturday and Sunday admission.

You can save $10.00 off your pit or general admission tickets by donating a pint of blood to the RI Blood Center. They will be on hand on Saturday and Sunday, with their mobile unit. Reservations do need to be made in advance. You can go to the Blood Center link on our website at seekonkspeedway.com, or go to ribc.org and reserve your spot today. Be Sponsor Code 2944.
