Kevin Chaffee Lands Full Time USAC DMA Midget Ride at Bear Ridge Speedway
BRADFORD, VT — “The Fairlee Flier,” Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee, Vermont Motorsports Magazine 2011 Driver of the Year, has landed a season-long ride in the 2011 USAC Dirt Midget Association championship winning team at Bear Ridge Speedway.
“We’re happy to welcome Kevin to the Seals-It team on a full time basis in 2012,” said team owner and New England Auto Racing Hall of Fame member Skip Matczak of Ellington, CT. “Kevin did a great job last year, finishing second his first time out and then going on to win two features. He has a great work ethic, really knows how to get around Bear Ridge Speedway and has a loyal following among the fans.”
Chafee joins Seals-It teammates Denny Zimmerman, a former Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year, and Joe Krawiec, who won the inaugural USAC DMA championship at Bear Ridge Speedway last season.
“I really appreciate the opportunity that Skip has given me,” Chafee said. “It’s a great car and the support and advice I’ve gotten from Denny and Joe is something that money can’t buy.”
The USAC DMA Midgets will race at Bear Ridge Speedway every other Saturday night starting with the track’s season opener on May 5 and ending with the New England Dirt Track Championships on September 22.
Utilizing a 4 cyl General Motors Quad 4 engine in a conventional, wingless Midget Chassis, the USAC DMA Midgets are among the most cost effective forms of racing available to a weekend warrior. Due to their affiliation with USAC, DMA Midget car owners will receive free ethanol racing fuel in 2012 through a partnership with IgniteRacingFuel.com.
