Stafford Springs, CT — For the first time in Stafford Motor Speedway history, all five of its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will be take to the track for extra distance feature events. Thanks to a partnership with Xtra Mart Convenience Stores, the Xtra D feature events will be called the Xtra Mart Xtra D Series, and drivers will be racing to finish in the top-5 to take home some extra cash from those races. The Xtra Mart Xtra Distance contingency bonuses will be split among the top-5 finishers from each Xtra Mart Xtra D Series feature event. “Xtra Mart Convenience Stores has been involved with Stafford Motor Speedway for many years in part through a very long term sponsorship of the 01 Late Model driven by Jim Mavlouganes,” said Xtra Mart Director of Purchasing Rob Corona. “Xtra Mart could not have asked for a better driver or track to partner with to promote the Xtra Mart name. We look forward to our continued relationship with Jim Mavlouganes and the Stafford Motor Speedway.”
“We’re proud to welcome a company like Xtra Mart to our contingency program,” said SMS COO/GM Mark Arute. “While we have had contingency bonuses for our SK Modified® and Late Model extra distance events in the past, this exciting new program enables all of our divisions to race for a bonus.
