Motorcycle & Automotive Swap Meets Kick Off 2012 Schedule of Events at Stafford Motor Speedway
Stafford Springs, CT — tafford Motor Speedway will open its doors for business in 2012 with its traditional Spring Motorcycle and Ty-Rods Automotive Swap Meets. The Spring Motorcycle Swap Meet is the first event on the 2012 SMS Calendar of events, and is scheduled for Sunday, April 1st. The 26th Annual Ty-Rods Automotive Swap Meet will be two weeks after the Motorcycle meet on Sunday, April 15th.
The Motorcycle Swap Meet features an abundance of everything motorcycles, from parts and pieces to leather jackets and other accessories. The Motorcycle meet will also have an antique/custom bike show. The Motorcycle meet is rain or shine, and the gates open at 7:00am on Sunday, April 1st, and the meet ends at 4pm. Admission is $10, and vendor spaces are priced at $30. All makes and models of motorcycles are welcome at the swap meet. The 26th Annual Ty-Rods Automotive Swap Meet features an abundance of everything automotive, from complete cars all the way down to suspension and engine parts. There will also be a car corral for FOR SALE ONLY vehicles. Admission for the Ty-Rods meet is $11. The gates for the Ty-Rods meet will open at 7:00am, and the meet is rain or shine.
Vendor spaces for the Ty-Rods meet measure approximately 10’ by 20’, and cube vans need at least two spaces. Vendor spaces are priced at $50 per space. The car corral is a limited area and fills up on a first come, first serve basis. The price to display a car in the corral is $30 per vehicle. Stafford Motor Speedway kicks off its 2012 racing season with the 41st annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST. The Tech-Net Spring Sizzler is scheduled for April 27-29, and will consist of the 200-lap Tech-Net Spring Sizzler for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, a 40-lap SK Modified® feature, a 30-lap Late Model feature, 20-lap feature events for both the SK Light Modified and Limited Late Model divisions, and a 15-lap DARE Stock feature.
Tickets for 41st Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST are on sale now and can be obtained by calling the speedway office at 860-684-2783 or by stopping by the office in person. Tickets for “The Greatest Race In the History of Spring” are priced at $38.50 for Adult General Admission, $42.00 for Reserved Seating, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and under are admitted FREE when accompanied by an adult. Parking is available on the speedway grounds FREE of charge, with overnight parking for campers and RVs available.
