Call Before You Dig Renews Contingency Sponsorship with Stafford Speedway
Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that Call Before You Dig will return for the 2012 season as a first place SK Modified® contingency sponsor. Call Before You Dig will also serve as a track partner in addition to their Contingency Program sponsorship. Thanks to Call Before You Dig’s contingency sponsorship, each SK Modified® feature winner during the 2012 season will receive a $150 bonus. Also, Call Before You Dig will serve as the title sponsor of the track’s Technical Inspection Zone for the sixth consecutive season of NASCAR Whelen All American Series competition.
"We like doing business with Stafford Motor Speedway," said John Bonville CBYD VP of Damage Prevention and Education. "We're happy to be able to support Stafford Motor Speedway and all of the racers who put on the shows throughout the racing season. This is a great way for us to be able to promote our free 811 service. This is a solid venue to educate and inform people how to find out what's below before they dig."
In addition to sponsoring the Inspection Zone and providing a weekly contingency bonus, Call Before You Dig will maintain an advertising presence in the Stafford Speedway PitStopper Magazine as well as a billboard display along the track’s backstretch.
Call Before You Dig is a non-profit organization funded by public utility companies with facilities located in Connecticut. CBYD is a free service that provides homeowners and professional excavators a easy way to learn just what underground utilities lie within their proposed work area.
8-1-1 is the new "Call Before You Dig" number. It was created to help people know what's below and from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on excavation projects. Every excavation project that disturbs the soil using mechanical equipment requires a (free) call before you dig ticket. Even if it is a small project like planting trees or shrubs with a hand shovel, it's a sound and safe practice to know what’s below. If you hit an underground utility line while digging, you can harm yourself or those around you. You may disrupt service to an entire neighborhood and potentially be responsible for fines and repair costs. 8-1-1 is a free call to make, and calling CBYD before using mechanized excavating equipment is the law in Connecticut. After 2 full working days of your call, a representative from each member utility company that may be affected by your excavation will come to your site mark the utility location of their underground facilities with color coded paint or flags or call you if there are no conflicts. Call Before You Dig can be found online at www.cbyd.com for more detailed information and guidance.
