Christopher Disqualification Reversed
Thompson, CT — Following a full examination of the mufflers taken from Ted Christopher’s Sunoco Modified race car, Thompson Speedway officials have reversed their earlier decision which had resulted in the car’s disqualification. Christopher will be credited with the fourth place finish he had won in the Sunoco Modified 30-lap feature on Icebreaker weekend.
Officials had originally made the call believing that the mufflers had been altered. However, upon further investigation, it was found that the mufflers had suffered from severe wear and had not been altered. As a result, Christopher’s original finishing position, 4th, has been reinstated.
