Noll Wins NETS Cinco De Mayo Race

New England Truck Series celebrated Cinco De Mayo this past Saturday night along with the Thunder on the Mountain, Monadnock Speedway NASCAR regulars. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere in the pits was exciting with every team preparing for the night of racing in store for all the fans in the stands.

Starting the race coming off turn four, the Sundeen sponsored Ford #151 Bert Ouellette truck of Ellington CT, took the lead with # 21 Pete’s Car Star sponsored Chevy of Jason Lafayette out of Somers CT on the outside, crossing the start finish line with a green flag start with NETS Chief starter: James Warner of Moosup CT.

By half way, Ouellette held on to his lead position with #2 Duane Noll of Monroe CT, waiting for an opportunity to advance. Meantime, the #11 Chevy of Vinney Esposito held on to third place with this being his first race at Monadnock Speedway and Lafayette in tow for respectable fourth place. At this time, the #83 Chevy Sponsored FEB Construction truck of Gee Perry, longtime favorite at Monadnock ended his night with mechanical failures. By lap 15, the fight was on for first position, by the next lap Noll took the lead and then the win. Joining him on the podium were Ouellette and Esposito. NETS next race is Twin State Speedway, Claremont NH on May 19, 2012. For more New England style truck racing news, go to www.newenglandtruckseries.com.
