Thompson Community Night This Thursday at Thompson Int’l Speedway
Thompson, CT — Residents of the town of Thompson, CT will be the invited guests this Thursday night, June 7th, at the Thompson International Speedway. Every year, the management of the race track sets aside an evening of racing and offers free admission to residents of its home town.
“We truly enjoy offering this opportunity to residents of our town,” said track owner Don Hoenig. “This gives us a chance to say thank you to all of the people Thompson for their support of our facility and gives them a fun-filled night at the races. We want to be good neighbors and this is one way we can show that,” he concluded.
All that is necessary for Thompson, CT residents to enjoy a free night at the races is some proof that they reside in the town. A driver’s license, school I.D., utility bill showing a Thompson address or similar form that shows a Thompson address is gladly accepted for free admission. Free admission for Thompson residents applies to grandstand admissions only.
This Thursday will mark the second week of the summer-long series of Thursday night competition at the speedway. Regular weekly racing features Thompson’s “Super 6” NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing divisions. At the top of that list is the Sunoco Modified division that features many of the best and most exciting open-wheel drivers in the northeast. Thompson Modifieds and LKQ/Keystone Lite Modifieds also offer exciting open-wheel competition. Late Models, Xtra/Mart Limited Sportsman and Monster Mini Stocks make up the “fender car” divisions with exceptional driving talent featured in each of these divisions as well.
Grandstand will open at 4 PM and racing is slated to start at 6 PM. Thompson residents along with hundreds of race fans from all over New England will enjoy qualifying races and six big feature event races.
