Fast Fridays Fulfill Promise
LADYGA MAKES IT TWO FOR TWO IN LEGENDS
Seekonk, MA — Nick Ladyga and Tom Gray battled their Legends cars through the Fast Fridays feature with Ladyga coming out on top, giving him two-for-two on the races run this early season. Ladyga edged out a .264 second margin over the tenacious Gray and Shaun Buffington. The trio had assumed the top ten slots by lap 3. Gray moved into the lead briefly on lap 7; Ladyga resumed control on lap 10 and led the tenacious Gray to the checkers. George Whitney and Joey Parker rounded out the top 5.
Sixth went to Jordan LaMothe, Polesitter Carl Blandina was seventh. Seekonk SYRA graduator Nick Lascoula and Taylor Martin rounded out the top ten.
MORETTI NAILS DOWN PURE STOCK VICTORY
Randy Moretti worked his way to the front of the Pure Stock feature at the midway point, and then survived a 12-lap challenge from runnerup Bill Chouinard. Moretti picked his way through the crowd from his ninth place start while Mark Murphy and Chris Lima traded the lead to begin the race. The duo swapped the lead three times before Moretti eased Murphy out of second to pursue Lima. He was able to get by on lap 11 and then held the lead for the remainder of the 25 laps.
Chouinard worked his way up from 14th and edged Lima back to third in lap12. Lima held on to third through the finish.
David Desrosiers and Thomas Blackwell III filled out the top 5
Sixth through tenth went to Jesse Melberg, Derek DeMoura, Jamie Burch, Murphy and Doug Benoit.
WESTGATE LOCKS UP SPORT 4 WIN
David Westgate, Jr. came home the victor over a late charge toward the front by Ed Gould as the Sport 4’s heated up. Gould came out of the pack in the final laps to challenge, but Westgate’s run was too much of a reach. Lenny Sousa, Chuck McDonald and Richard Sprague were the top five.
Sixth through tenth went to Ken Holbrook, Henry Lavallee, Kyle Pacheco, Devin Miranda and Taylor Therrien.
SYRA 750 TO BLAIS
Austin Blais picked up his first career Seekonk Youth Racing Association win on Friday, June 8. Blais led four competitors across the finish line, all on the same second in the timing books. Kaitlyn Donovan was just .147 seconds off the pace in second, while Curtis Rolando followed at .403, Tylar Nailor .433, and Shelby Donovan .625. The 20-lap crowd-pleaser saw Blais edge polesitter Christine Cavallaro out of the lead on lap 2. Chase Belcher gave chase before Kaitlyn laid claim to second going into lap 5. Belcher continued in third until lap 13, when Rolando moved him back. Belcher moved back to third on the next lap, but then was headed by Nailor, who held on for four laps. With two to go, Rolando moved back into third for the finish.
Sixth went to Belcher, followed by Cavallaro. Willy Sanchez, who completed 4 laps was 8th and Ashley Kuhn (9 laps down) came in ninth.
BOWSER WINS THIRD FEATURE IN SYRA 600’S
Taylor Bowser moved up from her fifth starting position to move Matthew Barboza out of the lead going into lap 7, then held on to the finish of the 20 lap feature. It was her second win in two seasons. Tyler Boudreau pulled into second on the same lap and chased the leader to the finish line for a second. Polesitter Barboza ran third in the feature. Doug Meservey, Jr. nipped David White with three laps remaining for the fourth spot, sending White to fifth.
Brett Meservey, Hand Deguzman, Madison Birchall, Shawn DeMello and Shea Kulpa filled out the top ten.
