Only 2 weeks away from Seekonk Speedway’s Open Wheel Wednesday Modified Madness

Seekonk, MA — With $10,000 up for grabs, modified drivers from all over the North East are ready to converge on The Action Track of the East for a mid-week event, with one of the highest payouts in New England. The entry list is growing day by day, and currently includes two former OWW Champions Doug Coby and Matt Hirschman, 7 time NASCAR Modified Champion Mike Stefanik, and one of the most talked about drivers currently, Tommy Barret. Max Zachem, Dave Berghman, Todd Patnode, Frank L’Etoile, and Austin Kochenash, who has become the youngest modified winner at Evergreen/Mountain Speedway, winning the last two events there.

Previous winners of this prestigious event include 2 time NASCAR Whelen Modified Champion Donny Lia, 3 time Valenti Modified Tour Champion Kirk Alexander, two time VMRS Champion Chris Pasteryak, 6 time Seekonk Speedway Champion Vinnie Annarummo, VMRS Rookie of the Year Todd Annarummo, and current NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader and defending champion of this event, Doug Coby. In 2012, Seekonk is adding another reason to lead laps. Lap sponsorship is available for any company to jump on board with. So far, several companies have purchased laps at $25.00 each. Each lap sponsorship will be paid to the driver leading that particular lap. If interested in sponsoring a lap, please contact Kevin Boucher at RaceVoice@aol.com, or at (401) 935-9590.

Also on the schedule are the NEMA Midgets, making their first appearance of the season at the Bay State oval. This will be the first of 2 events of the season for the NEMA stars. John Zych Jr leads the chase into the middle portion of their schedule, with multi time champion Randy Cabral on his heels. This will be the fifth event on their schedule for the season.

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends will also be on hand. This will be their first visit to this prestigious event, but have been competing weekly as part of the Fast Friday Series. Matt Pappa is the most recent winner of the Fast Friday events. Additional winners this season include Shaun Buffington, Tom Gray and Nick Ladyga.
