PRACTICE: Lia Sets Pace at Loudon
Tops Whelen Modified Tour Chart In 1 1/2-Hour Session
LOUDON, N.H. — Donny Lia posted the fastest lap during Saturday morning's 1 1/2-hour practice session for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Lia's speed of 129.825 mph around the 1.058-mile oval set the pace as the tour preps for Saturday's Town Fair Tire 100.
Ron Silk was second quickest at 129.327, followed by Ted Christopher at 128.702. Bryon Chew and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Qualifying for the Town Fair Tire 100 is slated for Friday at 4:45 p.m., with the race Saturday at 1 p.m.
Eric Beers was sixth in practice, followed by Jon McKennedy, Todd Szegedy, Ryan Preece and Mike Stefanik. Points leader Doug Coby was 11th fastest.
