Seekonk Speedway Hosting Valenti Modified Racing Series Saturday
Canaan, NH — With last weeks race program postponed at Waterford, CT., the Valenti Modified Racing Series competes for the first time this month, Saturday night, August 18, at Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, MA. The New England based series will compete in a 100-lap green flag feature race, the second of three appearances there this season.
Leading the list of entries will be Series Champion Chris Pasteryak, of Lisbon, CT., a two-time winner at Seekonk. Louie Mechalides of Tyngsboro, MA., and current point-leader Jon McKennedy, of E.Chelmsford, MA., are expected entries. Both have two wins at the famed oval.
Huntingdon Valley, PA., driver Rowan Pennink will enter the Seekonk race trying to regain the point lead from McKennedy. Pennink is 22 markers behind McKennedy, a two-time series champion.
Todd Owen, Somers, CT., Mike Holdridge, Manchester, CT., Jeff Malave, Manchester, Norm Wrenn, Nashua, NH., and Rob Goodenough, of Swanzey, NH., are expected.
Mountainside Graphics Rookie of the Year contender Mark Bakaj, of Lebanon, CT., Tommy Barrett, of Millis MA., and Geoff Gernhard, of Salem. CT., are expected to compete.
Saturday’s program will be the 20th appearance by the VMRS. Vinnie Annarummo, Swansea, MA., and Les Hinckley, III, Windsor Locks, CT., are tied with three wins.
Saturdays program begins at 6:00 PM.
