Adam Norton Wins First Ever Monadnock Speedway Sportsman Modified Feature
WINCHESTER, NH — After suffering three weeks of rain outs, The Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH got in an action packed night of racing with not one, but two visiting tours coming to town. The Pro Four Modifieds of New England made their stop at Monadnock Speedway an exciting 25-lap event. Bringing the field to green was Dan Fresh in the #32 and Kurt Vigeant in his #7. In the early laps, Rob Richardi, Jr in the #12 took the lead. A lap 14 yellow for a spin and flat tire for Waterford CTs’ recent Pro Four winner Dave Richardi #00 slowed the pack. The restart saw the #5 of Dan Meservey, Jr leading with Phil Lausier in hot pursuit.
On lap 17, Richardi, Jr and Vigeant, both running in the top 5, did a double spin on the back stretch dropping them to the back of the pack. For the remainder of the race, Dan Meservey from Brewster MA ran, away with the win. Phil Lausier of Hudson NH was 2nd over the line and Kurt Vigeant came back from his spin to finish 3rd.
Also visiting the Monadnock Speedway were the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour for their 50-lap feature. With a large field of cars, Toby Wells in his #2 made his way from the 5th row starting spot to take the lead. Through lapped traffic Danny Field was not far behind Toby. A mid race caution flag had Emerson Cayers’ #88 pit with a flat tire. Cayer returned to rejoin the pack at the back. From the restart Cayer passed high and low to gain on the leaders. On lap 48, Cayer powered his way past race leader Wells and went on to his 3rd win of the season. Toby Wells finished in the runner up spot and Danny Field held on for 3rd.
The 25-lap Super Stock Feature was won by Jason Lafleur driving the Action Realty/Barnard Racing #22, his 3rd win of the year. Showering sparks against the front stretch wall trying to get that 1st place spot was points leader John Lavoie in the Chucks Auto #33 for second place and third was Dana Shepard in the Bard King Concrete #43.

The Sportsman Modifieds ran their 30-lap feature with Jeff Beckwith #60 and Adam Norton in the #22 bringing the field to green. A lap 1 spin by Brian Chapin #44 involved Beckwith and Arthur Heino #27, resulting with all three headed for the pits. On the restart, Norton took command of the race, running like he was on rails for the remainder of the race, not letting anyone get close. At the finish, it was Norton in the #22 Quality Auto Body for the win. Keith Carzello #7 takes 2nd, and Russ Hersey of Swanzey NH in the Twin State Truck Service #88 gets 3rd. Bill Kimball #43 and Joe Kendall #13 rounded out the top 5.
In the Young Guns #63 Chris Lawrence was the winner with #5 of Sonja Carey taking 2nd.
